The role you’ll contribute:
Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.The Provost is responsible to the University President for the supervision and direction of all academic activities at the University. The Provost is the direct report of the Vice President for Educational Technology and On-line Education and the Associate Vice President for Academic Administration.The Provost chairs the Academic Policies Committee and Graduate Department Chairs report directly to the Provost on all academic matters. The Provost oversees the supervision of the Curriculum Coordinator and the Center for Academic Achievement.

Scope of Responsibility:
Responsible for all Academic Activities at the University
With the Vice President for Academic Administration is the final step in the academic appeal process.
Compliance/Regulatory Responsibility:
Chairs the Academic Policies committee
Operating & Capital Budget/Financial Responsibility:
Reviews and approves Graduate Dept. Chair budgets
Strategic Planning Responsibility:
Provides leadership in crafting the university strategic plan in coordination with the University President and Dept. Chairs
Performance Improvement Responsibility:
Conducts Performance appraisals for all Graduate Dept. Chairs and offers constructive feedback for professional development
Community Relations Responsibility:
Participates on the University Board and promotes the academic agenda of the University
Staffing/Labor/Supervisory Responsibility:
Direct report of the Vice President for Educational Technology and On-line Education and the Vice President for Academic Administration
Supervises and Mentors all the University Graduate Academic Department Chairs
Oversees the supervision of the Curriculum Coordinator and the Center for Academic Achievement
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
·Doctoral degree in Education, Psychology, or other higher education field
·A minimum of five years of teaching in higher education
·Previous experience as a department chair in higher education
·Chair of standing committees in a higher education setting
·Hiring and managing personnel
