Description
The Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery is seeking to hire a full time Sr. Medical Education Specialist. In this role you will serve as the program coordinator for educational programs or initiatives. You will partner with faculty in the operational and financial management of the programs and/or initiatives to ensure an optimal training environment for learners. This role oversees all aspects of the undergraduate, graduate, residency and fellowship education programs within Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery.
Responsibilities in this role include a wide range of programmatic activities including but not limited to:
- Designing, conducting, promoting, evaluating and supporting an education program(s) in compliance with organizational objectives and requirements.
- Supporting learners in areas such as curriculum, teaching and learning activities, scheduling, core competencies, assessment and evaluations.
- Coordinating all activities associated with ongoing administration of the education program(s) and/or initiative(s)
Pay Range: $70,900.00 - $145,200.00 annually
Qualifications

Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in related and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 2-3 years of experience coordinating an educational program(s) in an academic medical center
- Proficient with Microsoft Office programs and web-based applications
- Presents and expresses ideas and information clearly and concisely in a manner appropriate to the audience, whether oral or written. Actively listens to what others are saying to achieve understanding. Shares information with others and facilitates the open exchange of ideas and information.
- Open to change and new information; adapts behavior and work methods in response to new information, changing conditions, or unexpected obstacles. Acclimates quickly to new situations warranting attention and resolution.

- High degree of initiative and independent judgement
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills; demonstrated attention to detail. Ability to complete work and meet established deadlines in an accurate and timely manner, and to prioritize short and competing deadlines.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills and ability to interact collegially with faculty, staff, learners and outside contacts to carry out the mission of the educational program(s) or initiative(s)
- Manages confidential information discreetly and responsibly
- Comprehensive understanding of UCLA policy and procedures
