The role you’ll contribute:
The Facility-Based Clinical Educator is a registered professional nurse who demonstrates expertise in clinical nursing and a passion for ongoing support and development for AdventHealth clinical associates. The Facility Based Clinical Educator assumes accountability and responsibility for provision of professional development to positively influence the quality and cost effectiveness of patient care. Responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating a program of education at the facility level. Programming includes coordination of orientation on units, ongoing staff competency as well as continued education at the unit and/or facility level as identified by needs assessments, audits, data informed decision making and regulatory requirement initiatives. Applies policies, procedures, standards, and regulations as appropriate to their populations. The scope of the education will be determined through collaborative practice with leadership, educators, and providers to enhance the quality and cost effectiveness of patient care; assumes the role of an educator, facilitator, consultant, researcher and change agent. Works closely with the Enterprise Clinical Educator to align with annual education initiatives, clinical orientation, and other enterprise initiatives.

Acts as a member of the educationsupportteamformanagementofqualityandregulatoryinitiativesandprojects.Advances healthcare practice by supporting the integration of policies, procedures, and standards. Is knowledgeable in current healthcare trends and related legislative issues.
Identifies educational needs and opportunities using data from the organization such as regulatory requirementssurveyinformationaswellasemployeeandcustomerevaluationdata.Collaborateswith staff and management in differentiating between educational versus performance/compliance issues to design an effective plan of action.
Plansandfacilitateseducationinitiatives/classes/eventsthatbenefitthestaffincollaborationwithleaders or content experts
Evaluatesthequalityofprogramsandservicesoffered,includingclassevaluationsandincorporationof feedback into program improvement. Responsible to track course statistics and maintain documentation of educational activities including, but not limited to, evaluation data, attendance numbers and types, completion, or success scores, etc.
Identifiesandevaluatesappropriateproducts,programs,andservices,baseduponneedsassessment for populations served; for planning of or improving of educational offerings.
Collaborateswithmanagersandkeyclinicalstakeholderstoidentifyeducationalneedsofstaffregarding nursing care and/or equipment as it relates to quality patient care.
Presentseducationprograms/continuingeducationactivitiesasneeded.Participatesinorganizational clinical competency committee meetings as appropriate.
Demonstratesclinicalskills,judgment,andnursingprocessinthemanagementofpatientpopulations. ProvidesfeedbacktoRNdepartmentfocusededucatorswhoparticipateinunit,hospital,enterprise committee/task force to maintain and improve the delivery of patient care.
Utilizes principles of communication and change theory in providing health care consultation to other departmentsandstaff;specificallyinareasoftraining/education/programdevelopmentandassociate development.
Assesses learning needs, designs, organizes, implements, and evaluates education programs (Orientation,continuingeducation,andin-services)thatfacilitateprofessionalgrowth,knowledgeand skill development, competency, applicable standards, and attainment of standards of care for direct care providers.
Maintainsaccountabilityforintegratingthemultidisciplinaryprocessinassessment,problem identification,planning,designing,implementing,andevaluatingprofessionaldevelopmentprocesses in partnership with peers
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
Minimum qualifications:
BSN
RN License
5+ years of experience in nursing
Preferred qualifications:
MSN
2+ years of staff development, academic teaching and/or project development coordination
