The Ethics & Compliance team plays a crucial role in ensuring Banner is meeting legal requirements.???? This role will be at the core of confirming compliance or identifying and remediating non-compliance by reporting and analyzing Banner???s vast amount of data.
The analyst will be involved in developing complex SQL queries, generating reports, performing analysis, and building visuals to convey their findings.???? The analyst will also be involved in building out a data mart environment taking source data, digesting it, and structuring it in a meaningful and efficient manor while utilizing stored procedures, views, functions, indexes, etc.???? Analyst needs to be comfortable writing many joins and investigating complex datasets to identify how they may be related.???? While data science experience such as using R, Python, machine learning, SAS, etc. can complement this role, these skills will be utilized directly very rarely (these skillsets are not required).
As the Compliance Database Analyst, you will need to be comfortable receiving lose requirements and working with internal customers to identify project objectives, collaborate to further define requirements, pull and validate the data, present the data to the end-users, and make refinements as needed.???? Strong communication and organizational skills are a must.
This is a remote position working Mon-Fri between the hours of 8am - 5pm, 8 hours shifts.

POSITION SUMMARY
This position provides data analytics support to the Internal Audit and Corporate Compliance departments by utilizing standard data analytic methodologies and data extraction software. This includes data extraction and analysis from multiple applications, building complex reports and/or data repositories, developing relational data structures, identifying data analytic opportunities and providing project management which may include project development, presentation and implementation. The incumbent must have significant knowledge regarding healthcare operations in order to serve as a liaison and provide relevant guidance or leadership. This position is responsible for and/or participates in creating functional documentation, participating or reviewing technical documentation, system configuration, creating training materials and facilitating or leading cross functional teams through projects and/or issues to achieve desired results.
CORE FUNCTIONS
1.??Plan and perform data analytic procedures that support Internal Audit and Corporate Compliance ongoing projects. Specific responsibilities will include; identification of data analytic opportunities, design and execution of audit tests based on identified risks, data extraction and analysis utilizing data interrogation software, report development and project management.
2.??Performs analysis of customer needs. Manages and supports the identification and research of new developments and uses of current systems and applications, as well as upgraded systems and applications to meet customer needs. Products may include, but are not limited to; online applications, complex reports.
3.??Serves as a liaison and expert resource for customers related to data analytics that may include data analysis, development of data or trending reports, project management, presentation and education.
4. Maintains optimal operation of departmental application in partnership with IT or external software vendor, as appropriate. This may include leading the implementation, maintenance, testing and/or functional design.
5. Keeps current on industry and regulatory/compliance issues within assigned areas. Provides system and reporting consultation on these issues to customers.
6. Creates presentations and/or reports for management involving significant analysis of multiple or complex data sources.
7. Develops interrelationships among partners and customers who might have similar information needs and manages those relationships to assure effective solutions.
8. This position makes decisions using policies and guidelines, but must demonstrate expertise in applying solution to non-standard or routine situations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must possess a strong knowledge as normally obtained through the completion of a bachelor's degree in a related business discipline or computer science.
A level of experience as would typically be obtained in no less than three years??? working with complex data environments or systems. Advanced business or clinical knowledge and demonstrated working knowledge of data extraction software such as ACL, SAS or other comparable software applications. Excellent working knowledge of typical word processing, spreadsheet and/or database applications is required. Strong organizational skills, as well as, excellent oral and written communication and human relation skills are required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree strongly preferred. Experience in Healthcare operations, regulatory requirements, audit standards preferred.
Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
