The role you’ll contribute:
The Corporate HIM Coder II is responsible for providing inpatient and outpatient coding services to AdventHealth Facility HIM Departments. Provides coding compliance and medical necessity edits correction to assist in reducing the unbilled claims volumes. Provide support, training, testing and maintenance of coding applications. Provides support with medical record combines, analysis or other special projects.

- Provide coding services to AHS Facilities.
- Ability to consistently code at 95% accuracy and quality while maintaining facility specific production standards.
- Routinely reviews official coding resources to stay abreast of current coding changes and developments.
- Participates in the implementation, training and testing and maintenance of coding applications.
- Performs medical record combines, medical record analysis and other projects.
- Participates in process improvement activities as requested.
- Works with the Charge Master and Patient Financial Services Teams to review and implement charge master changes.
QualificationsThe expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
Minimum qualifications:
- Associate or Bachelor’s in Healthcare related field
- 2 or more years of inpatient/outpatient coding experience.
- Computer knowledge of MS office, Word, Excel, Electronic Medical Record, Coding Applications
- One of the following certifications; RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC, or CCS/P
Preferred qualifications:
- Current knowledge of inpatient and outpatient coding.
- Current knowledge of coding compliance and medical necessity edit correction process.
- Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of the medical record combines function.
