In compliance with applicable New York and New Jersey State regulatory authorities, COVID-19 vaccination (2 doses of either the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine or one dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine) is mandatory for all MSK employees, contingent workers, and volunteers. Exceptions are permitted for those employees who request and receive an approved medical or fully remote exemption.
*Staff working at a MSK New Jersey location must be up to date with COVID-19 vaccination, which includes having completed the primary COVID-19 vaccination series and booster once eligible as mandated by New Jersey State. All New Jersey staff not yet eligible for a booster must receive a booster within 3 weeks of becoming eligible as a condition of continued employment at MSK.

We have an exciting opportunity to join MSK as a Community Manager reporting to the Director, Health Equity. We're seeking a strong writer and creative thinker with a proven record of maintaining effective partnerships with Black and/or Latinx community organizations and media partners.
The goal is for MSK to improve its connections with Black and Latinx communities in New York City and the suburbs with support from a Manager focused and passionate about engaging media networks and civic organizations that focus on Black and Latinx populations. This Manager will also serve as an advisor and subject matter expert for the Community Engagement Managers and media relations team.
Support the development of content about MSK's community commitment and outreach, and facilitate strategic placement in outlets (radio, digital, print) in collaboration with the MSK media team to reach the Black and Latinx populations in the Tri-state area.
Support the creation of beneficial institutional relationships within the Black and Latinx communities in Long Island, Westchester, and New Jersey.
Identify key partners and civic leaders and help MSK develop creative and effective outreach strategies tailored to community needs. Additionally, support NYC-based outreach when needed.
Track relationship development using a Salesforce CRM database. Develop reports and analyses to guide future work and support fellow staff in using the CRM as needed.
Develop content to educate MSK staff about community needs and aspirations, and perceptions of MSK. Develop decks and memos, deliver presentations, and facilitate meetings.
Represent MSK in meetings and networking opportunities and help foster positive sentiments toward MSK.
5+ years in community engagement and/or media relations.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish. Additional languages are a plus.
Previous experience and a network of contacts in Black and/or Latinx community agencies and media outlets in New York and/or New Jersey.
Strong diplomacy, networking, and relationship management skills.
