In compliance with applicable New York and New Jersey State regulatory authorities, COVID-19 vaccination (2 doses of either the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine or one dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine) is mandatory for all MSK employees, contingent workers, and volunteers. Exceptions are permitted for those employees who request and receive an approved medical or fully remote exemption.
*Staff working at a MSK New Jersey location must be up to date with COVID-19 vaccination, which includes having completed the primary COVID-19 vaccination series and booster once eligible as mandated by New Jersey State. All New Jersey staff not yet eligible for a booster must receive a booster within 3 weeks of becoming eligible as a condition of continued employment at MSK.
Note: Individuals are eligible to receive a COVID-19 booster five months after receiving the second dose of either the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine or two months after the J&J vaccine.
Job Description
We are seeking Infection Preventionists for our growing Infection Control team!
As an Infection Preventionist, you will:
- Be responsible for preventing and controlling the spread of healthcare-associated infections at MSK.
- Surveillance activity includes infection outcome and process measures for both the inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Collect and analyze data, investigate outbreaks, observe practices, participate in patient rounds, perform education, and design and lead interventions to improve infection control.
- Address infection control issues within the medical center as well as those in the community that impacts patients admitted to the hospital.
- Help to set infection control policies and serves as a resource to administrators, physicians, staff, and the community regarding infection control practices.
- Have scheduled and as needed on call responsibilities.
You have:
- Bachelor's Degree in Science or other related health field; Master's Degree in Public Health/Industrial Hygiene preferred
- 3-4 years' work experience in an Infection Control setting; experience working in a perioperative setting is a plus
