Works in conjunction with department leadership to provide intra- and inter- departmental management on projects and issues related to GME & CME. Works directly with Director of Medical Education/DIO , Medical Education staff, and program coordinators to ensure compliance in the area of GME contract/affiliation agreements, maintenance of documentation necessary for the annual IRIS/ cost report, and to assist with CHGME grant and other related fiscal requirements in the department.
Job Specific Duties
Responsible for ensuring all department-wide institutional GME activities necessary to maintain accreditation compliance are completed.
Develops and ensures implementation and execution of new affiliation and program letters of agreements. Maintains current all agreements for incoming/outgoing trainees and students' rotations at Nicklaus Children's Hospital.
Works with GME staff to review processes, procedures, and standards as directed by Director of Medical Education. Works to improve or modify standards related to department functioning and performance.
Ensures documentation for annual IRIS report is continuously maintained by the responsible coordinator(s). Ensures overlaps with other hospitals are managed and IRIS report (for Hospital cost report) is accurate. Addresses requests from auditors related to departmental grants. Responsible for ensuring all data processes in the department are accurate, timely and useful.
Coordinates annual CHGME (Children's Hospital GME) Payment Program audit with Fiscal Intermediary, HRSA (Health Resource Services Association), and other hospitals in collaboration with NCH Finance and Research Institute Sponsored Programs departments.
Keeps up-to-date with CHGME regulations and assists Hospital with all related documentation, updates, etc.
Manages all fiscal policies for the department including travel/expense reimbursement for the residents and other staff, meal tickets, and related processes.
Provides guidance, education, training, and support to medical education program coordinators including continuous education and training on GME and CME rules as appropriate.
Minimum Job Requirements
Bachelor's degree or at least 4 years of equivalent experience.
2 years of experience in healthcare or university administration setting.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Masters degree preferred.
C-TAGME certification preferred.
Experience with contract development and internal auditing beneficial.
Experience with Graduate Medical Education (GME) or other work in an academic background highly desirable.
Knowledge of Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) requirements preferred.
Attention to detail and organization.
Expertise with database management, word processing, and spreadsheet programs.
Ability to work well independently.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and strong presentation skills.
Strong familiarity with project management software and processes.
Proven ability to manage complex projects as well as the capacity to perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
