JOB SUMMARY:
Vanderbilt University Medical Center's HealthIT department seeks a qualified, highly experienced staff and product manager for enterprise imaging to join our innovative, highly robust enterprise imaging portfolio. Candidates MUST have at least 5 years of staff and product management experience.
HealthIT provides for the best health information technology tools that support Vanderbilt University Medical Center's (VUMC) mission and commitments. Managing millions of patient visits each year, VUMC is one of the largest academic medical centers in the Southeast. It is the primary resource for specialty and primary care in hundreds of adult and pediatric specialties for patients throughout Tennessee and the Mid-South. The Medical Center is the region's locus of postgraduate medical education, with over a 1,000 residents and fellows training in more than 100 specialty areas. Vanderbilt University Adult Hospital and the Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt are recognized each year by U.S. News & World Report's Best Hospitals rankings as national leaders, with 19 nationally ranked adult and pediatric specialties. Through the Vanderbilt Health Affiliated Network, VUMC is working with over 60 hospitals and 5,000 clinicians across Tennessee and five neighboring states to share best practices and bring value-driven and cost-effective health care to the Mid-South. VUMC has a massive imaging repository with over two decades of imaging data. In any given year, VUMC performs over 1,000,000 imaging studies across the specialties of Radiology, Cardiology, Orthopedics, Surgery, and OBGYN. In any given year, VUMC receives multitudes of patient referrals accounting for 1,000s of additional imaging from these outside sources for which also populates our enterprise imaging platforms.
An Enterprise PACS Manager, leads technical team resources in planning, design, operation and monitoring of group of products in a portfolio. This Manager develops and oversees standards and processes for the product strategy, design, maintenance and operation. Leads product managers in analyzing the market for new product and service trends, capabilities and scalability.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for managing the enterprise imaging staff and products to ensure the 24x7 stability, integrity, user experience, and overall performance of the enterprise image exchange platform, Ambra, and enterprise PACS system, Sectra IDS7, to include associated applications, devices and modalities that integrate with the enterprise PACS system. As well, assisting with alike for other small PACS systems within the enterprise imaging portfolio such as Syngo Dynamics, AS OBGYN, et. al.
- Utilizing both clinical and technical skillsets, the position would be responsible for managing the enterprise imaging staff in developing, maintaining, troubleshooting as well as seeking opportunities to enhance clinical imaging workflows in collaboration with clinical operations.
- Regular communications for purposes of alignment and strategy with other teams within and outside of HealthIT to include (but not limited to), other IT teams, clinical engineering, clinical operations and business operations.
- Must be willing to serve as a liaison between clinicians, vendors, and other IT teams utilizing strong professional communication, collaboration, clinical, and technical skills.
- Development of staff's professional skillsets and knowledge.
- Must have and maintain a depth of knowledge of medical imaging and medical imaging products within the industry including new trends and technologies.
- Must have and maintain strong connections to the professional medical imaging community.
- Must be able to professionally present to executive leaders, guidance in acquiring, implementing and/or deploying enhancements for existing or new products and infrastructure as well as recommending investments in new technologies while remaining in alignment with clinical goals.
- Assist the enterprise imaging team in the analysis and design of supporting technical infrastructures.
- Must be willing to manage and serve as an escalation contact including assisting the team in providing immediate engagement in support issues related to the enterprise imaging products. As enterprise imaging systems are utilized 24x7, candidate must be willing to provide after-hours, on-call support as required by the department including weekends and holidays.
- Collaborates to operationalize the mission, strategic plan, budgets, resource allocation, operational plans, and policies.
- Prepares annual operating and capital budgets following established guidelines and using benchmark data.
- Develops and monitors the implementation of area specific plans linked to organizational goals.
