In conjunction with the Emergency Management Chief, the Senior Director of Emergency Management is accountable for the strategic leadership, coordination and oversight related to the hospital emergency management program including conducting institutional risk assessment, program management, event management, risk communication, training and education, grant administration and meeting regulatory compliance. This individual engages key administrative and clinical leaders and other hospital staff across the system to prepare for, respond to, recover from and mitigate operational disruption caused by natural disasters and other man-made emergencies that pose risk to patients, families, employees, and property. The Senior Director reports to the Chief Operating Officer and directs the Emergency Management department staff and resources. The senior director also establishes and maintains key relationships with external organizations and officials to facilitate plan development, response effort coordination, and exchanges of personnel and equipment. Finally, the senior director is responsible for the Emergency Operations Plan and all related activities for all facilities.
