Description Summary: This position reports directly to the regional director and has accountability to the Manager Clinical Risk.The RN Regional Clinical Quality Champion provides guidance and direction to medical practice sites to drive patient safety and clinical quality. A Regional Clinical Quality champions uses clinical expertise and a working knowledge of clinical documentation in the electronic medical record. In this role the RN is the regional clinical expert who rounds on practice sites to assess adherence to best practice and regulatory standards.This role is responsible for implementing policies and processes that assess, train and drive clinicians' clinical competence and positive patient outcomes.This is a continuous process of assessing needs in the region and working to set priorities and develop plans to close gaps. The RN Program Manager Quality Management works primarily with clinical staff and practice managers to create a great place for clinical staff to work and provide care, with a focus on patient outcomes and the patient experience.As the regional expert, this role is accountable for defining structure for medical practice sites in his/her region and across other regions, collaboratively with other Regional Program Manager Quality Management and under the direction of the Manager Clinical Risk.
This is an autonomous strong nursing leadership role requiring team work with individual practice sites in the region and at times across all regions.The RN Program Manager Quality Management will work both independently with staff and providers, and with cross functional teams. This role carries out messaging, training and education face to face, by phone, email and via on-line presentations. This role continuously applies expertise in the following to drive change: researching and interpreting best practices for clinical skills and medical record documentation for all levels of staff, coaching, training, educating, analyzing and reporting data, and project management. Under the direction of the Director of Quality/Chief Nurse of CHRISTUS lead quality initiatives to drive improvements in medical practices in an assigned region.
