WHAT YOU WILL DO
Develop and successfully implement Performance Improvement Infection Prevention plans that are consistent with Franciscan Alliance vision and goals.
Educate, coach and develop medical staff and leadership so that they actively lead and participate in departmental, functional and service line Performance Improvement and Infection Prevention plans.
Ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines for all outside regulatory and accrediting bodies.
Oversee the preparation for all site visits and coordinates all activities during site visits.
Submit all data to external agencies in a timely manner for Quality Improvement and Infection Prevention requirements.
Coordinate, facilitate and document all quality activities; monitor Quality Improvement/ Infection Prevention and wound management initiatives, with a strong focus on public reporting initiatives.
Monitor Quality, Infection Prevention performance and wound care (trends, etc.) relative to key benchmarks – national, regional and local – routinely reports this comparative information and ensures that it is utilized in developing action plans.
Direct the completion of all corporate board reports
Monitor clinical, medical and ancillary compliance to the quality plan and initiates appropriate action to assure compliance with CMS, Value Based Purchasing and insurance carrier’s quality measures.
Participate in risk/safety review in order to identify potential risks and opportunities for enhancing patient care and safety.
Act as a liaison with staff and management in clinical areas.
Participate in the identification of high-risk areas and provide prioritized recommendations and solutions to eliminate exposure to liability and improve quality of care and patient safety.
Support implementation of evidence-based clinical best practices for improving processes, outcomes and patient experience of care.
WHAT IT TAKES TO SUCCEED
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Express ideas effectively in individual and group situations, adjusting language and terminology to the audience.
Participate effectively in performance improvement processes and team building settings.
Maintain current knowledge of regulatory agency requirements, is a resource person to patient care services and hospital departments in order to achieve compliance to regulatory agency standards.
Assess and analyze strategies and implement activities to maximize effectiveness.
Keep abreast of changing healthcare industry and develops Quality/Infection Prevention processes that provide differentiation in the marketplace.
Secure relevant information, and identify key issues and relationships from a base of information relating and comparing data from different sources, identifying cause-effect relationships.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
5-10 years clinical experience, preferably with demonstrated experience in delivery of quality services;
Certification(s): Certified Professional in Health Care Quality (CPHQ) or Certified Professional in Health Care Risk Management (CPHRM) desirable.
Current Illinois Registered Nurse License and a Master’s Degree in Nursing or Healthcare Administration required
